Little Champions

Hoboken is famous for several things. Carlo’s Bakery, Frank Sinatra, some of the best delis in the world, and being the Home of Baseball. Most are unaware but Hoboken Little League doesn’t stop after the regular Minor and Majors season. During the summer time All Star play is in full swing. Bunt intended. Teams are formed by coach nominations. The teams then practice during summer weeks for District, Sectional, State and a possible trip to Williamsport for Little League World Series Tournament. The commitments are big, but the rewards are even bigger. Last year due to Covid all Tournaments were cancelled.

Hoboken Little League came out strong with 4 teams winning District and 2 placing 2nd. The 10U and 11U teams both won Sectionals to make it to the New Jersey State Final Tournament. The last time Hoboken made it to the State tournament was in 1986! History was made on the diamond, as this was the first time Hoboken had 2 teams in the State Tournament and the 1st time a 10U team qualified. While most 8-14-year old’s are off on vacations with family and friends these boys of summer were practicing at the Little League Field preparing for there next game.

Hoboken should be so proud of these boys and the history they made this summer. Hoboken has the BEST Little League Field in the country and games there can be electrifying. If you haven’t been to a game during the Spring/Summer season, then you are missing out. Put that on your bucket list!

Please show support and applauded these amazing Hoboken Little Leaguers!
