Where would we be without our Moms? This last year, families have been pulled in all directions and were forced to navigate a global pandemic, among other challenges. Yet, Moms continued to demonstrate their resilience and shine like the superstars that they all are. Below you’ll find some ideas for activities this weekend to pamper and celebrate the nurturers of our community. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas in Hoboken and beyond!

1. Stay local by ordering a scrumptious fruit and cheese platter in a 10 x 10 box from local Mom chef and Platter Whisperer, Casey2Cook. Casey’s culinary talents have landed her on shows like ABC’s The Chew and Cooks vs Cons on the Food Network. With your platter in tow, head to Pier A to picnic along the waterfront and play at Pier C at the playground to top off the afternoon. Contact Casey2Cook@gmail.com to place your order.

2. Celebrate Mother’s Day Texas Style! House of Que at 340 Sinatra Drive is offering an extended Mother’s Day brunch from 11 AM – 4PM. All Moms receive a bottle of champagne with their meals! Reservations are required due to limited capacity. Email RSVP@houseofque.com or call 201.706.8755 to secure your spot.

3. The Cottage in Jersey City has a secret garden, live jazz music, and a delicious menu. The live jazz performance takes place 2:30 PM – 6 PM every Saturday and Sunday, including this Mother’s Day. Seating is first come, first served. If you’re itching to see some music after a year of going without concerts, this is a great option for you! Check out their website for more information.

4. Head to Alstede Farm for a Farm to Table Mother’s Day Brunch. Highlights include tractor rides, visiting farm animals, and eating a casual meal. Advanced tickets are required and will be sold per time slot. Click here for more information, including COVID-19 precautions.

5. Take a boat ride on a Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise courtesy of Event Cruises NYC. A 3-deck vessel departs from Pier 36 for a 2-hour trip, with views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline. Tickets include a four-course brunch and bottomless mimosas. Check out their website for more info and to book your tickets!
