Grinch-Mas Story Time Special

Reading of How the Grinch Stole Christmas followed by a viewing of the cartoon movie. After the viewing, good deed calendars will be handed out to the children for a countdown to Christmas.

Newport's 18th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Celebration

Newport Town Square

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Following the tree lighting there will be photos with Santa, caroling, rides on the famous Santa Express train, crafts, hot cocoa, and sweets and treats.

Tuesday, December 3

Hoboken Christmas Tree Lighting

City Hall (94 Washington Street)

4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

The event will feature special musical performances as well as a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A Merry Little Christmas Carol

Mile Square Theatre (1400 Clinton Street, Hoboken) A Merry Little Christmas Carol is a Dickens of a tale, told many times and many ways- but never before like this! Mile Square’s new production features five actors celebrating the magic of stagecraft as well as the joy of the holiday season. Audiences will delight in quick change artistry, puppetry, traditional music, and the warmth, laughter, and tears of this beloved holiday classic. Recommended for ages 8 and up

Family FUNday: Winter Wonderland

Join a modern-day Alice in Wonderland as she searches for the real meaning of the winter holiday season. In a dream, Alice travels to Wonderland. Follow Alice as she discovers that strange unusual characters enrich her life, and that embracing differences is truly in the holiday spirit.

Gingerbread Cookie Ornaments

Sugarsuckle Studio (600-604 Newark Street, Hoboken)

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

A fun and edible arts and crafts workshop where you will create a magical set of hanging tree ornaments. Each participant will receive a set of freshly baked gingerbread cookies to decorate. The decorated cookies will be packed in a box and taken home to display on your tree or to share with friends and family.

Gingerbread House Workshop

There will be pre-assembled and sturdy gingerbread houses ready for decorating. You will add icicles with royal icing and adorn the house with holiday candy and sprinkles.
