Recently my 2.5 year old daughter asked for a smoothie (or a “smoodeee”). I was in a bit of a rush and went to open a pre-made one I keep on hand and she admonished me, “No! MAKE it!” and pointed to the blender. Toddlers! But it was a nice vote of confidence that she prefers mine over store-bought. So I thought I would share what’s in it. It’s extremely easy and you can add to it depending on what you have on hand.

1/2 c almond milk
1/2 c filtered water
Spinach (I don’t measure this, and I find spinach doesn’t have much taste in a smoothie only some thickness. Start with a small handful)
1/2 frozen banana
Unsweetened cocoa powder
Optional add ins: Full fat yogurt for a thicker treat, chia or ground flax for fiber, frozen berries, 1/2 scoop collagen powder, probiotic powder
