The Holistic Mom: Three Ways to Slow Down and Enjoy the Holidays

I don’t know about you, but some years are a blur from Halloween 'til New Year's. It feels like everybody is on high speed during the holidays and sometimes it feels over before it started. This year, I intend to go into the season more mindfully.

Here’s how I plan to slow down and enjoy the first major holiday of the season:

Morning Meditation. It is important for me to take a few minutes to tune in especially on important days. Taking some time to meditate before the holiday will allow me to be more present throughout the day.

No Phone! This can be a tough one, but putting my phone away is the fastest way to get out of your own head and enjoy the moment.

Chew. The food during a major holiday meal can be overwhelming (in a good way!). This year instead of scarfing it down, make sure to mindfully chew all your meals completely and taste all the flavors!

How do you plan to slow down this year?
