The Fourth of July is fast approaching and this year's celebrations are shaping up to be some of the best, with events all around Hoboken and Jersey City, and even several opportunities to teach your kids a thing or two about exceptional 90's music. From Snoop Dogg to TKA, your Fourth of July will be lit by more than just fireworks.
This is by far the largest celebration of the day with over 200,000 spectators assembling on the Hudson River Waterfront near Exchange Place Plaza. The day will begin at 12:00 PM with a full scale carnival, several beer gardens, foods trucks, a concert with none other than Snoop D-O-Double G headlining, and a grand finale of fireworks from several barges on the Hudson. The event is set to end at 10:00 PM and it is advised that you take public transportation. Backpacks and bags are subject to inspection and coolers are not permitted.
Join the Community Uplifting Project Community Garden for their 1st Community BBQ from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Geared towards families, there will be free games and food. The location is 612 Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City.
Pier 13 Hoboken will be presenting its "First Annual Freestyle on the Hudson" on Wednesday, July 4 from 12:00 PM-10:00 PM. Tickets are $20 per person for all ages and will gain you admission to the pier and LIVE performances by TKA and George Lamond with musical guests Anthony D, Anthony Pags, and Anthony Dilawr.
There will be a live DJ, dancing, and an open bar from 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM) to 11:30 PM at the 1 Exchange Place Rooftop in Jersey City. This event offers unobstructed views of the Jersey City Fireworks display on the Hudson River and is open only to those 21 years of age and older (sorry, no kids allowed). Tickets start at $100 per person for general admission.
Ferries board at 6:45 PM and 7:00 PM from Port Imperial Ferry Terminal in Weehawken. The boats will be equipped with a DJ and a cash bar for soft drinks, snacks, and cocktails. Children under 3 years of age ride free! Ticket prices are $140 for adults, $100 for children ages 4-12, and $130 for seniors. It is recommended that you make reservations in advance as tickets are expected to sell out.
All are welcome (including pets!) to the Maxwell Place Pier (by 11th Street) from 12:00 PM-4:00 PM, for a 4th of July celebration with Hoboken Grace. They will provide drinks and games and suggest you bring your own snacks to share.
