Total Beauty Mom: Tanning Made Easy

As moms, we can all agree that we are all insanely busy. all. the. time. I often amaze myself at how much I manage to get done in a day between taking care of the kids, the hubs, and the endless household chores. So many a night, I’ve plopped onto my couch after a long day with a glass of red in hand, finally getting in some much needed ‘me’ time after putting the boys to bed, thinking how nice and convenient it would be to have someone come over and give this tired mama some glam.

Well, I took my own advice and booked spray tans for a few events I had coming up with two places right here in Hoboken – Tre Chique Salon and Glow + Co Mobile Airbrush. They’re both on the LH Hook-Up, so make sure to check them out!

Although Tre Chique offers mobile spray tans, I ended up visiting the salon for my spray tan service as I needed a much needed break after Daddy got home. I opted for the medium shade based on Delia, the salon owner’s recommendation, and it came out so natural looking and gave me just the right amount of glow. Prior to my appointment, Delia gave me great tips on how to prep my skin for the spray tan and while I was there she offered great tips on how to maximize the tan to make it last. Mine lasted nearly seven days! Their solution is all natural, derived from sugar cane and walnut extract which is how you get more of a natural glow vs. an orange tan with carrot extract.

Further, as I was waiting to get beautified, they offered coffee, tea, and wine which was a really nice touch. The salon is newly renovated and celebrated their two year anniversary on June 18th. The owner, Delia, and her staff were all super friendly and I can’t wait to go back. Plus LH Hook-Up cardholders get great deals on all of their services:

* 20% off Color and Hair Facials (Mon-Fri before 4:00 PM)

* $10 off Blow Outs for New Clients Only * $35 Spray Tans (New Clients Only)

* 15% off One Hour One-On-One Makeup Lessons

Oh Glow + Co, with your mobile airbrushing service and flexible booking times, you saved me when I needed you most. I had an upcoming weekend getaway and I naturally waited to get everything done until the last possible second (welcome to motherhood!). I called Kerry, the owner of Glow + Co, to schedule a mobile airbrush service one afternoon while the boys were napping. She showed up with a pop-up tent (which protected my furniture), her airbrush supplies and was in and out the door in twenty minutes leaving me with this beautiful, glowing tan and more than enough time to pack the rest of my bags. How convenient is that?

Their tanning solution is all natural, paraben-free, fragrance-free, nut-free with a brown sugar base. As with Tre Chique, they use a more premium solution leaving you with a natural tan vs. an orange tan. Kerry, the owner, was SO nice and gave me amazing tips to ensure my tan lasted and it did – nearly seven days!

Lastly, with your LH Hook-Up card you get 30% off! Mobile airbrush tans go for $45/tan (unlimited) for LH Hook-Up cardholders vs. $65/tan at regular price. If that’s not a deal, I don’t know what is.

Both Tre’ Chique and Glow + Co glammed me when I needed them most and I highly recommend both.

Lastly, I wanted to talk about an awesome company called Coola Suncare. You may have seen us give them a shout-out recently on Instastories as they gifted me their Eco-Lux Body SPF 30 Organic Sunscreen Spray and their Organic Sunless Tan Dry Oil Mist (pictured below).

With summer here, I was super pumped to receive these products and give them a try for obvious reasons.

First, as we all know, sunscreen is SO important during these warmer months. The sun can not only cause skin cancer, but can also really damage and age your skin, so I try to avoid it as much as I can (especially now that I’m getting older, ugh!). These products will not only protect my skin from the sun but will also allow me to trade in my pasty white legs for a safe, natural, summery glow.

Secondly, all of the Coola products are organic and natural. Coola uses eco-conscious formulas (farm-to-face) ensuring that they use the most potent and natural plant-based ingredients in all their products. They’re paraben-free, non-GMO, and do not include oxybenzone - all a huge bonus for me as I’d prefer to use natural products vs. chemically- based products.

The sunscreen spray is already packed for my upcoming trip to Florida and I’ve already made a serious dent in the Sunless Spray Mist. I was very pleased with the mist. I get nervous using sunless tanning oils, lotions and mists because I never know what I’m going to get – orange hands, stained clothes, a streaky tan, etc. The mist is super light. It’s easy to apply. It didn’t turn my hands orange, didn’t stain my clothes or sheets and gave me such an even, beautiful glow that lasted for four/five days.

I highly recommend Coola Suncare products for all you mamas out there who, like me, want to protect your skin while also being able to have a nice, natural glow.

In the meantime, stay out of the sun, go book your spray tans with these two amazing local salons for all your upcoming events, and buy these Coola products. I promise, you will be so glad you did.
