The Sleep Styler™ - Style Your Hair While Sleeping
As a stay-at-home mom of twins, my morning routine looks very different now compared to what it looked like a year ago, pre-kids when I worked full time. Back then, I had the luxury of spending 20 minutes on my hair, an additional 20 minutes on my makeup...all while sipping a very warm cup of coffee and jamming out to my favorite tunes. Boy, how times have changed! I now spend maybe five minutes on makeup (if I’m lucky) and throw my hair up in a ponytail every. single. day. (sorry in advance to anyone I run into during the week, ha!).
I was first introduced to the The Sleep Styler™ back in March while watching an episode of Shark Tank and was immediately intrigued. Fall asleep at night with these soft rollers in your hair and you’ll wake up with voluminous, beachy waves? Hook a girl up! And fast! So, when they approached our team to give it a try, I was more than pumped. I went through the process and shared my thoughts below.
Step 1: Wash
Take a relaxing shower at night, wash & condition your hair as you normally would.
Step 2: Wrap
Divide damp hair into sections and wrap each section of hair around a roller.
My Takeaway: Because my hair is naturally curly, I was a little skeptical the rollers would actually work with my hair type. Additionally, it was a bit challenging, and at times frustrating, wrapping my hair around the rollers but I finally got the hang of it after a few tries. With more practice, I think this step will get easier and a lot less time consuming.
Step 3: Sleep
Sleep comfortably as the marshmallow soft memory foam conforms to your head.
My Takeaway: This step also had me uncertain. I love my sleep and was worried I wouldn’t be able to get a good night’s rest with the rollers in my hair but as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were. I got a good night’s rest but did wake to find only two of the eight rollers still in my hair.
Step 4: Remove & Go
My Takeaway: The picture below (left), is what my hair looked like when I woke up the next morning – a lot better than what I was expecting. With a little love from my straightener (approx. three minutes), I was able to style to my liking (right image).
So what’s the consensus? Would I use The Sleep Styler™ again? YES! The rollers were super soft which made sleeping in them very comfortable. I also think the results will be even better once I get the hang of wrapping my hair in the rollers more efficiently and effectively. Finally, the three minutes I spent styling my hair in the morning (vs. 15-20 minutes on a normal day) made the whole experience well worth it.
