After the chaos surrounding the holiday season, it’s nice to hit the reset button in the new year and get everyday life back on track including my skincare routine which has taken a major hit these past few months. Anyone with me?
Between caring for my 18 month old twin boys, holiday parties, hosting visitors, traveling, and battling cold/flu season, I was just so tired at the end of most days that the thought of even washing my face at night (let alone following my normal nighttime routine) seemed like such a chore and pretty much the last thing I wanted to do! Makeup removing wipes were my savior throughout the season, but with the new year, I’m recommitting to my daily skincare routine including my Sunday Beauty Routine (found here) – no excuses!
My collection of beauty products is always changing as I love, love, LOVE trying new products. Below are my current "must haves" that I’m using at night.
I purchased this cleansing gel last month. It’s my first time using any Peter Thomas Roth products and I’m obsessed! My face feels so clean after I wash my face. At this point in my life I’m all about anti-aging, so when I saw that it contained glycolic acid and salicylic acid I was sold.
I’ve been using Eminence products for quite some time now and I love them. I exfoliate with this Dermafoliant twice a week. All of their products are all natural which makes me love them even more.
When I get out of the shower, I wipe my face with a makeup removing wipe to get any excess makeup/eye makeup that I missed. I love the NIU Body Coconut Makeup Remover Wipes. They contain coconut oil (oil based) making makeup removal much easier, faster, and gentler. Plus, coconut oil is really moisturizing which is key during these cold, dry wintry months.
I just started using this toner and I’m pumped about it. It has been on my shopping list for a while now. Will keep you posted on how I like it!
PSA: If you’re interested in using a retinol I do recommend SkinCeuticals, but I would strongly recommend starting with the 0.5 once or twice a week if you haven’t used a retinol before. They’re strong and drying! Once your skin can handle the 0.5, I suggest getting the 1.0 and repeating the process (once or twice a week until your skin can handle it every day).
One of my favorite moisturizers currently back in rotation.
I fell victim to over-plucking my eyebrows back in the early 90’s. This eyebrow serum has helped grow some of my eyebrows back! I noticed a difference after 30 days.
My lips have been SO dry lately. This scrub exfoliates my lips and removes dead skin. Again, coconut oil is super moisturizing which is key during these cold, dry months.
