The Holistic Mom: A Review of Merkaela

I am excited by any and all ideas to make more natural, holistic-based living accessible to everyone. The message is the same, but people receive the information through different channels. I was stoked to hear about Merkaela, a subscription box dedicated to all-natural health and wellness products. Merkaela’s core belief is that “feeling good can be good for you”. They have designed seasonal boxes filled with self-care products that are ethically and responsibly obtained and designed to provide you with balance and relaxation. Each box has a theme, and comes with a Spotify playlist designed to support the theme and the use of the products.

I received their Alive summer box. The first thing that struck me was the beautiful packaging, that was well crafted with minimal waste. I am always frustrated by excessive packaging. Inside the box was a meditation mantra, Calendula Lemon bath salt, hibiscus tea, peppermint soap, tangerine and sage body butter, sage, a pink lemurian crystal, and (my personal favorite) jasmine and palo santo meditation elixir. Just opening the box was a sensory experience! Meditation tools such as crystals and elixirs help us to ground and center. The beautiful crystal in this box also came with a clasp and I will absolutely be rocking it on baby free occasions! (PSA: Hanging crystals and a teething toddler do not mix). The Spotify playlist has been on repeat – the music supports presence and happiness.

Plus, I totally needed a break from the 24/7 Raffi.
