You’re expecting a new member of the family- Congratulations!
A babymoon is the perfect way to celebrate and commemorate these final months as a family of two -- or three, or four….you have full permission to take a babymoon for each kiddo ;)
This is a super exciting time for you and your growing family, and as you dream up different vacation spots, the last thing you want to worry about is the Zika virus.
So, here are some of my favorite Zika-free* babymoon spots! Places safe for you and baby, and places serving up all the relaxation and mocktails you can dream of.
My #1 recommendation for an easy getaway has to be Bermuda. It’s super close (2 hour flight!) and the beaches are beyond beautiful. Just know that the best time to go is between April and October.
Prefer warm weather year round? You really can’t ever go wrong with Hawaii. I know, I know - it’s a long flight, but the Hawaiian Islands are really beyond compare (and they’re still closer than Bora Bora, which, if you’re up for the flight, is also Zika free!).
#3 Domestic Flights
You can also stay closer to home in the States and easily schedule some sunshine and R&R in Scottsdale, Palm Springs, or the sweet southern city of Charleston (don’t forget to visit Kiawah Island for the perfect city/beach combo).
Europe calling? It doesn’t get much better than a summer getaway sunning that bump and eating your way through the Greek Isles or the Amalfi Coast (It’s an easier trip than you think!).
#5 Road Trip
Prefer to drive? Take a ride to quiet and romantic Newport, spend a weekend at a luxury spa resort in the Poconos, or snuggle up by the fireplace at a boutique hotel in Vermont.
So, don’t let Zika keep you home -- while the travel possibilities aren’t endless, there are TONS of amazing places to spend a few quiet days as a couple (Pro Mom Advice: Do it any way that you can! Vacationing with diapers, strollers, and carseats is a bit different!).
