I've always loved a good, relaxing bath. With my doctor's permission, I took baths all throughout my pregnancy and even during labor! It is one of my favorite forms of self care.
As moms, we need to carve out moments to recharge and relax. It's not every week (or even every month) that we can run out to a spa, for a mani/pedi, or a girls' night. A bath once a week is a totally doable goal. I take mine after I put my daughter to bed.
Baths are not only relaxing, but they can soothe sore muscles, provide a quiet meditative space, or even act as a mild detox. Adding Epsom salts aka magnesium sulfate is relaxing, rejuvenating, and aids in proper muscle function.
My favorite "recipe" for a good detox bath:
1 cup of Epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
1 Tbsp of ground dry ginger
-make sure to drink plenty of water beforehand and talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or have any cardiac issues.
For a relaxing soak:
1-2 cups of Epsom salts
3-4 drops of lavender oil
Add candles, relaxing music, dim lights, and a glass of wine as needed!
